Image Resources:
In addition to the following resources, textbook images may be scanned. Or students may wish to take a digital snapshot.

Google Images Directory
- Have students turn on "Strict Safe Search" in the Google image preferences.
- Search Google's web directory for definitions using the define command. Example: define: quiver
- Search Google's image directory using the part of speech and the word. Example: verb: quiver
- Consider collecting images in advance as a time-management strategy. This is particularly helpful if the Google Image Directory is blocked by your school district. Collect more images than what you need, so students will have choices. Place them in a folder for student access.
Google Life Photo Archive
Search millions of photographs from the LIFE photo archive, stretching from the 1750s to today. Most were never published and are now available for the first time through the joint work of LIFE and Google.
